Veterans and community
I stayed close to the veteran community after I retired, and I've found it's where I'm most at home. This page covers the groups I belong to, the ways I try to give back, and a short list of resources I trust.
Groups I belong to
- Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, where I ride with fellow veterans.
- Veterans of Foreign Wars.
- American Legion.
- Knights of Columbus.
How I give back
Every month I take part in two events for veterans. At the Keller Senior Center, I attend as a participant, offer support and comments during the meetings, and I have briefed the group before. I go to support our older veterans. In Fort Worth, I attend Roll Call, a large nonprofit gathering whose audience is mostly aging Vietnam veterans, along with some Korean War veterans and a few World War II veterans.
I work with all kinds of buyers and sellers, and I especially enjoy helping veterans, seniors and first-time home buyers. Everyone I work with gets the same care and the same effort.
On the road
I ride a Honda Gold Wing, and I've spent a lot of miles with fellow veterans.

Resources I trust if you're planning a move
I'm not a lawyer, a financial advisor or a VA representative, so please check the details with the official source. These are the places I send people to start.
- Military OneSource: moving, relocation and family support for service members and their families.
- VA home loans: how the VA home loan benefit works, from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Texas Veterans Commission: state benefits and services for Texas veterans.
Working with me
I built Lone Star Realty to be a small brokerage where you deal directly with me. If you're a military or veteran family buying or selling in North Texas, the best place to start is my About page on the Lone Star Realty site, where you can see how I work and what to expect.
